Meet Dr. Megan Herrmann

As a child growing up in Southern Ohio, Dr. Megan suffered from chronic hay fever, allergies and ear infections. She spent the first seven years of her life receiving a constant influx of antibiotics and antihistamines, and even had her tonsils and adenoids removed. Nothing, however, helped her body function optimally. Then her mother took her to a chiropractor.

From a Childhood Inspiration

It would have been impossible to predict the effect going to a chiropractor as a child had on Dr. Megan’s young life. At eight years old Dr. Megan had her first appointment, and after a few adjustments she recalled that everything cleared up. “I could breathe again. I was getting restful sleep and just felt better, and no longer needed allergy shots or medications.” Chiropractic provided Dr. Megan with the relief she needed, and continued to enhance her quality of life all through high school.

So when it came time to pursue a career, the choice of chiropractic felt right. Dr. Megan was inspired by her chiropractor and how he had helped her reach and maintain optimal health. Dr. Megan earned a full-ride academic scholarship to Shawnee State University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science. Dr. Megan then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

Finding Love and Knowledge at Palmer

At Palmer, Dr. Megan’s love of chiropractic and wellness truly flourished, as did her love for Dr. Eric Herrmann, whom she met in her second trimester of school. The two were inseparable throughout their education, and even completed a chiropractic mission trip to Brazil together, where they worked side by side helping the less fortunate of Ilheus. Dr. Megan went on to graduate magna cum laude with her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2014.

Dr. Megan’s greatest joy at Palmer was learning how chiropractic worked at a physiological level, thus understanding the true impact of chiropractic. She loved learning the science behind chiropractic and the ways in which anyone’s life can truly be improved by maintaining a properly functioning nervous system combined with quality nutrition, exercise and sleep. Today, Dr. Megan’s greatest passion is being able to provide a premier level of care and guidance at Herrmann Family Chiropractic.

ICPA logoDr. Megan especially loves caring for kids and expecting moms and is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). In 2019, she completed a rigorous 200 hour postgraduate program in which she earned her Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP) as a pediatric and prenatal chiropractor. She is the only chiropractor in the Johnston/Grimes area with the CACCP certification. As a certified prenatal and pediatric chiropractor she also has advanced training in the Webster Technique, a prenatal technique designed specifically for enhancing the health and wellness of pregnant women.
